    OPEN TO ALL and also meets US Sailing requirements for Club Race Officer certification or renewal.     US Sailing instructors, John McCarthy and Jerry Thompson will be teaching the seminar.  Early registration is recommended since spaces are limited.

    Drinks, snacks, and lunch will be provided for an additional cost of $20 per registrant payable at the door prior to the beginning of the course. There will not be time for participants to go off site for lunch due to the length of the course.

    THE OTHER HALF OF THE STORY:  MARK ROUNDINGS & OBSTRUCTIONS

    PLUS A BONUS SECTION ON STARTS AND BARGING

    Last year we covered Right of Way rules plus Proper Course.  This year we'll close the loop with mark rounding scenarios plus problems occurring at obstructions. Also, we'll deal with starting situations and, of course, everyone's friend... barging.

    The 2020 BBSA Championship is scheduled!

    Little Creek Sailing Association will again be defending its title against the intrepid Willoughby Racers in the BBSA Championship on Saturday,  August 22, 2020.   

    Get this event on your calendars now! Registration will be only available to BBSA members and is free.  Registration will be opened at a later date so check back often.

    • Chesapeake Bay to Rudee Inlet

    17th Annual Neptune's Atlantic Regatta (2020)

    Neptune's Atlantic Regatta, is affiliated with Virginia Beach's Neptune Festival and is also a CBYRA-sanctioned event. Starting off Little Creek, racers transit the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, sail down the coast, and finish off 24th street.

    After a night of fun at the Festival, participants leave the event's complimentary Rudee Inlet dockage and return home.  This race is part of the Southen Bay Distance Racing Series (SBDRS).

    Join us for an October tradition on Willoughby Bay... the Memorial Race.  Racing is for non-spinnaker, single headsail.  This is a staggered-start, pursuit-style race with handicaps taken into consideration at the start.  Each boat will have its own starting time.  There will be a post-race party with beer and Memorial Race awards (approx. 3:30pm) at Rebel Marina.  The Willoughby End-of-Season Party will follow the Hot-Buttered Rum Race in November.

    The sailing instructions with course descriptions and starting times will be provided at the Skippers' Meeting.

    The Broad Bay Sailing Association and Willoughby Racers are pleased to announce the 2020 Hot-Buttered Rum Race.   Classes will be non-spinnaker, single headsail only.   Class splits will be based on the entries. There will be 2 classes (Silver Label & Gold Label).  See the Notice of Race for details and registration information*.

    1000 hours - Skippers’ Meeting – Front steps of WHM

    1200 hours - First Flag

    1500 hours - End-of-Season Party and Awards


    Following the race, hot-buttered rum will be served and war stories exchanged along with a chili cook-off at the Willoughby Racers End-of-Season Party at the Breezeway Café at Rebel Marine. Willoughby Racers season trophies will also be handed out.
