Marking the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, a fleet of international tall ships will sail into the port of Virginia on June 19, 2026.  The 26 nautical mile spectacular parade will feature ships from around the world sailing together into downtown Norfolk.

Broad Bay Sailing Association will be participating in the Escort Fleet forming the Parade of Sail. Sign up now to be part of our fleet!  Sail alongside the tall ships!  To be in the BBSA Fleet, you must register with us by February 28!!
Note:  This date may be extended depending on response.

On Friday, June 19, 2026, The Parade of Sail escorting the international tall ship fleet will depart from the Lynnhaven Anchorage off the Virginia Beach Shore Drive Lesner Bridge area, sail through Hampton Roads, and into the Elizabeth River.

    Key Dates:

    • Feb 28, 2026 - Last day to register to be part of BBSA fleet
    • Apr 15, 2026 - Last day to submit Escort Fleet form to Sail250
    • Jun 19, 2026 - Day of the Parade

After the Parade of Sail to Waterside, vessels wishing to stay in the area are strongly recommended to anchor at Hospital Point as early as possible.  Due to the high boat traffic expected in the area all are advised to have appropriate anchor and navigation lights for large boats and also dinghies.  Some boats will simply return to their homeport rather than anchor overnight.
