BBSA hosts many different type of events during the sailing season. There are social events (some land based and some on the water), races, cruises, membership meetings with speakers, and training.
Jean and Jerry Pattenaude (and their cruising committee) are hosting a cruise to North Carolina in June with multiple destinations and variations. There will be a circumnavigation of the Albemarle Sound for the Sooper Loopers.

To celebrate the summer solstice and Sailstice, Joe and Mary Greblunas are hosting a cruise to Fleet's Bay where we will anchor off Pirate's Beach. A Progressive Dinner is planned for Thursday night at a location to be determined once the weather forecast is known. Beach and water activities are planned for the rest of the weekend including a wine tasting and bonfire. If you think you are coming but are not 100% sure you can make it, go ahead and register. Sergio Diehl and Misty Smith are hosting a multi-destination cruise around the bay including a visit to Solomons Island for 4th of July. This cruise will combine marina visits and anchoring options. It is similar to the Summer Cruise III, which only has marina stops. Note there are some destination variations. Marina reservations should be made early. Contact Sergio for details.

The Broad Bay Regatta will be held in conjunction with the NYCC’s Wolcott Memorial Regatta, which is being held on Sunday, June 30th (see their NOR for details). The 57th Broad Bay Regatta will be held the day before on June 29th and each regatta will have separate awards presentations. If you register for Saturday’s event, you will automatically be registered for Sunday’s event.

Mark your calendars for July 6th to join Hobie Fleet 32 members at Chic’s Beach and take a ride on a beach cat. We’ll offer a variety of cats including Hobie, Nacra, Supercat, AHPC/Goodall, and possibly others.
Many of you big boaters cut your teeth sailing these fast cats back in the day. We are pleased to offer you this opportunity relive those days and to see what has changed and what hasn’t in beach cat design through the years. (Unfortunately no foiling cats are available.) I’ll update the calendar soon to provide details including the time of the event.

The Lew Wardrup Memorial Cape Charles Cup officially begins with the Skippers' Meeting on Friday afternoon. Skippers and one guest may come to the event to pick up registration packets, purchases, and information about event changes (the green sheet). The events provides a friendly meeting of the skippers before the race and serves dinner and refreshments.
