Derby Day Cruise to Waterside May 7-8, 2022

NOTE:  We are watching the weather.  So far, the cruise is not canceled.  

Be it by land or sea... well... the Elizabeth River... on May 7th, join us at Waterside Marina for a "Derby Day Party on the Docks!" I have slips set aside for us that weekend (if you're coming by vehicle, parking is up to you... I'm not reserving a garage  ). I have enrolled the assistance of Jim and Bev Borberg for the occasion as this cruise was hosted by them in the past. Bev graciously accepted my offer to host the hat contest and Jim has given us the recipe for his famous "Goombay Smash" cocktail! Don't worry, he will be on hand to make sure I mix it correctly!  Bring an appetizer, and a table if you have one, to our boat (Bella Villa) between 5:00-5:30 pm. 

For the Derby race, the plan is for all parties that want to participate to chip in a dollar and pick a random horse from a hat (how we are going to get all those horses in a hat is a mystery to me). The race usually starts between 6:30-7:00 pm though, if I am reading the countdown clock correctly, post time is slated for 6:45 pm.  As for dinner, I leave that decision in your capable hands!
