Sailwave Training

On Tuesday, May 10, BBSA is offering a hands-on workshop to train members how to use Sailwave software to score Wednesday and Thursday night races.  Eric Brinsfield will lead the session with demos, example slides, and hands-on guidance.  We will provide you with test finish times to score during the session.

Agenda:

• 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm Arrive to sample some Deadline Brewing concoctions and eat some pizza
• 6:30 pm – Introduction to Sailwave and the lay of the land
• 7:00 pm – 8 pm
• • Getting the latest results from the last race
  • Updating the night’s race parameters
  • Entering finish times
  • Scoring the results
  • Creating a publishable file for upload to the website
• 8 pm- 8:30 pm - If time permits, we will cover more detail about:
• • Configuring Sailwave
  • Uploading results to the website
  • Additional publishing formats

Prerequisites

• Knowledge of US Sailing’s Racing Rules of Sailing – Appendix A:  Scoring
• Bring a laptop running Windows or partner with someone who brings a laptop
  Sailwave only runs on Windows. 
• Prefer that you download the Sailwave software before arriving at the training

• Be ready to learn by 6:30 pm at Deadline Brewing project
