Harborfest Cruise - June 9-11

The BBSA and HYC cruisers will once again make the long trek to Norfolk for the Harborfest weekend, where participants will have the option to anchor together, in the vicinity of R32 off Hospital Point near Tidewater Yacht Marina, or reserve dockage at Waterside Marina directly. Since the Parade of Sail is Friday morning, I envision that several boats will arrive at Harborfest Thursday night or early Friday AM. We (S/V Brittany) will be there Thursday afternoon. We welcome others to join us to get a good spot to see the Parade on Friday morning and fireworks on Saturday night. Regarding events, other than the shoreside action throughout the weekend, we plan to get together a few times out on the boats in the anchorage. Remember, we will be rafting up, anchoring solo, getting a slip, and/or potentially dinking around a bit.
Friday: For those that arrive prior to the Parade of Sail (at about noon) BRUNCH aboard Brittany and Serendipity Too. I will be anchored right next to the parade route. Please bring a very simple breakfast item to share, if you wish. Time: 1000
Saturday: Plenty to do ashore all day with no cruise events until the evening. We are checking on the possibility of being able to dock our dinghy’s at Nauticus throughout the weekend. Waterside Marina does not permit dinghy dockage. S/V Brittany, with assistance from others, will host an evening cocktail and simple covered dish event aboard our boats from 1800-2000. Please bring something to share and beverages of your choice. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will develop a Plan B. I do envision several boats rafted, if possible. Dinghy pull ups possible. Stay to watch the fireworks together or take a breather and come back at 9:00.
Sunday: No cruise events planned as we depart for home ports.
