RACE 2 ABANDONED DUE TO WEATHER

This is an exciting new race series for BBSA members. Non-members are most welcome. This series has something for everyone.

One of the objectives of this series is to have two mid-distance races that are "close to home" for almost all BBSA racers - Little Creek Racers, Willoughby Racers and our Hobie Fleet. Additionally, we will include all of the rating systems that our members use - PHRF, ORC and Portsmouth Yardstick for the Hobies. We will have a Cruising class for the true Cruisers and our novice 1st/2nd year racers. Also in this series is a Friday Feeder Race to Norfolk Yacht and Country Club's (NYCC) Dink Vail Regatta. We are excited about the 2024 Dink Vail Regatta and Cruise. Our friends at NYCC are spectacular hosts for a weekend of racing and/or Cruising.

If you have not registered as a skipper for the LWMCCC, please do so first at:

    LWMCCC Registration

If you have already registered, continue below:

Registration Order Update Form (to add regalia orders or change class)

Click on the Register button to update your registration to add more regalia, such as shirts, hats, and bags.   You can add to your order multiple times, but please contact the webmaster if you need to delete items from your order.   Anything ordered after July 8 is not guaranteed but we did order lots of extras.

If you are a racing skipper who has already registered for the Leo Wardrup Memorial Cape Charles Cup, you can add to your regalia order here.  Please register here with the same skipper name and boat name, so we can connect your registration to your order.  All pre-orders will be delivered in the skipper's bag.

We will also be selling shirts, hats, dinner tickets, etc. at the door.  Anyone attending can buy at the door.

NOTE: If you have not registered your boat for the regatta, please go to:

The Leo Wardrup Memorial Cape Charles Cup committee is looking for volunteers to help plan, prepare, and execute the Cape Charles Cup regatta.  We need volunteers at any and all levels of commitment - well before, during, and after the races.  If you cannot spare loads of time, you may be able to help in short spurts on smaller tasks.  If you have more time, we would love for you to join the committee.

For more details, review the CCC Volunteers page to see who is doing what now and to find "volunteer needs list" toward the bottom of that page.

If you are interested, please reach out Eric Brinsfield, 2024 LWMCCC Chair, or to any committee member to ask questions.  Please register your interest here.  Click on the Register button and you can specify what types of help you can offer.

During registration, you will see these questions:

    • Volunteer pool: If you are willing to be contacted throughout the year for short tasks, select Yes to be added to the volunteer pool.
    • Specific tasks:  Select all that you might be willing to do.  These are volunteer jobs for specific events, dates, and times.
    • Future committee positions:  If you are willing to be part of the planning committee next year, we can start your training now.  You can shadow the current committee members.  Job descriptions are available on the CCC Volunteers page.

NOTE:  Your name will not be publicly listed on the website.  Only the committee will have access to your name.

Registration fee includes 2 free dinner tickets, 1 skipper's bag, and 2 free t-shirts.

Skippers' Meeting is Thursday, September 28th at Elizabeth River Boat Landing and Park, 1400 Elizabeth River Way, Chesapeake, VA 23324 Details in the Notice of Race (link below).
